Affordable hop-on jet service launches flights from Austin to Dallas
Travel between Austin and Dallas will be upgraded. Dallas-based hop-on jet service JSX buckles up for takeoff in Austin. The regional carrier, which offers affordable semi-private air travel, will launch a daily round-trip service between Dallas Love Field and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on September 27, with flights worth $ 129 each way.
In addition to the new Austin flights, JSX is also expanding its service between Dallas and Houston, doubling the number of daily flights from September 27th.
“Demand for air travel in our home state of Texas continues to grow and we are excited to add Austin to our route map,” said Alex Wilcox, CEO of JSX, in a press release. “In addition to our increased air traffic between Dallas and Houston, our new Austin route will give Texans what they have long wanted: simple, accessible alternatives to crowded commercial flights.”

JSX debuted from Love Field in June 2020 with introductory flights to Las Vegas and North Carolina, then Houston, Lajitas Golf Resort in West Texas, and special routes to Los Cabos, Mexico and Destin, Florida. The Austin Routes have been a long time coming and can take the strain off many traveling Austinites who have long been driving to Dallas.
JSX describes itself as a “Hop-on-Jet-Service” because customers can arrive at private terminals 20 minutes before departure and can easily board a flight to avoid crowds and queues. At Love Field, travelers have access to valet parking, WiFi lounges, contactless security and fast baggage collection.
On board a 30-seater jet, passengers can relax in a business-class seat with plenty of legroom and enjoy free drinks, snacks and cocktails. JSX also has a pet policy that allows small dogs and cats to fly for free.
The company’s goal is to provide a luxurious travel experience at competitive prices, it says. Unlike some private and semi-private jet services, the company does not charge membership fees.
JSX says it is continuing its expansion plans across Texas to meet the growing demand for “smarter, safer” air travel options.
“With the rise of business travel and the steady rise in leisure travel, JSX’s entry into the Austin market and increased service between Dallas and Houston is aimed at those looking for convenient, efficient alternatives that prioritize today’s most valuable commodity: Time, “the release says. “Prepared for short-haul, business or leisure travel, travelers flying with JSX can minimize wasted dwell time navigating huge terminals and waiting for flights and maximize their time with friends, colleagues and family by they only check in 20 minutes before departure at private terminals, away from the crowds, queues and the hustle and bustle. “
Founded in 2016, JSX relocated its headquarters from Irvine, California to Dallas in 2018. It was named one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2020 by Fast Company.
“We are excited to welcome JSX to Austin and know that the convenience and comfort of this unique new service is a perfect fit for many of our travelers to Central Texas,” said Jacqueline Yaft, CEO of ABIA, in the press release.
JSX flights can be booked directly through the website or the app.
