Best away matchup for Giants fans to travel to in 2021

What’s the best away game New York Giants fans can travel to this season?

Unless you’re someone like the Giants superfan known as the “License Plate Guy” who goes to an away game to support your team is a special event. If you are based in the New York / New Jersey area, you also need to plan a road trip and make the most of it.

Let’s take a look at the away schedule and figure out how to do that.

Week 2 on Washington Football Team (9/16) – Obviously a huge game for the Giants since it’s in the division. Still, it’s a Thursday night game and maybe not the most alluring to travel to. Unless you want to skip work / school on Friday and turn it into a weekend in Washington, DC.

The nation’s capital in September is a great place to visit. You probably know all of the major spots, but here’s a guide to some lesser-known spots and facts about DC

Week 4 at New Orleans Saints (10/3) – A trip to New Orleans sounds cool. I’ve actually never been there. Unfortunately, the effects of Hurricane Ida may have to postpone this game. Maybe it ends up in New Jersey. It might end up in Texas, which has been reported as a possibility. That could be good for the Giants because the Superdome isn’t an easy place to play. It may not be good for your travel plans. You may want to skip this one with the uncertainty.

Week 5 at Dallas Cowboys (10/10) – It’s the Jerry Dome. Could be a great place, but sitting in the seats there could get me dirty. I cannot recommend a trip there. On the flip side, there are always tons of Dallas fans at MetLife Stadium to watch Cowboys at Giants. It would be nice to see a healthy contingent of Giants fans in Arlington.

Week 8 at the Kansas City Chiefs (11/1) – Kansas City may be a nice place, but the Giants could be destroyed here. Arrowhead Stadium is probably one of those “bucket list” places for an NFL fan. Even so, I’m not optimistic that this will be a fun game. You might want to cross a trip to Arrowhead off your bucket list until Patrick Mahomes finally retires.

Week 11 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11/22) – Tampa in late November? Sounds good. However, this is a Monday night game and unless you’re planning a Florida vacation, it probably won’t be the best trip. Florida weather, of course, and a few days away from work … I could be persuaded.

Week 13 at Miami Dolphins (12/5) – THAT’S THE ONE! A trip to Florida in the first week of December? Sign me up for it! Warm weather. A game to be won. Take a few days off and soak up the sun? I am dejected. This is actually the extra game added to the schedule when the NFL increased the regular season to 17 games – a perfect excuse to get on a plane and see it live.

Week 14 at Los Angeles Chargers (12/12) – Can’t do the Miami trip? This will be enough. You can watch Justin Herbert and soak up the California sun.

Week 16 at the Philadelphia Eagles (12/26) – Philadelphia? The day after Christmas? In terms of distance, it’s an easy trip from the New Jersey area. Eagles fans suffer to see if the Giants win was definitely fun. Still, ! I went to Lincoln Financial Field once and it really isn’t a pleasant experience unless you stand for the Eagles or in some cases dressed like Santa Claus, a real possibility for this matchup the day after Christmas. Besides, it’s Philadelphia. If you are only planning one trip for your football season, you can do better.

Week 17 at Chicago Bears (1/2) – Chicago? The first week of January? Sorry not for me Check with me to see if the Giants will get this matchup in September for years to come, but Soldier Field in January is a little too frosty for my liking.
