Cattle Drive Kicks Off NHRA Texas Fall Nationals Stampede – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
The Fort Worth Herd cattle drive is held Friday to help kick off the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals Stampede of Speed.
According to the Waxahachie Convention and Visitors Bureau, the cattle drive takes place at 12 noon and runs from the Stockyards to historic downtown Waxahachie.
“What would a rush be without cattle?” said Andy Carter, general manager of Texas Motorplex. “We contacted our friends in Cowtown and the Fort Worth Herd wanted to come and help get things started. Plus, they heard about a cowboy riding all day to spend the night in Waxahachie, so it’s only fair that they stop and see the sights of historic downtown on the way to the Texas Motorplex. “
The “Stampede of Speed” is a 9-day event starting on Saturday October 2nd with the Night Lights Sky Lantern Festival. The event ends with the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals October 7-10.
The Waxahachie Convention and Visitors Bureau said the week of activity will highlight the economic benefits of motorsport in Texas and provide a variety of entertainment options for sports fans from across the state and across the country.
The event includes a music festival, barbecues, beer exhibition, bull riding, pub crawls, movie nights, races, and more.
