Charged with sexually assaulting teens in OC, hotel tycoon now being sued
A Texas hotel mogul and reality TV star charged with sexually assaulting two teenage girls at his Orange County home is now being sued by one of his accusers.
In the lawsuit filed in Dallas, the girl claims she was molested by Bill Hutchinson, 63, after she befriended his ex-wife’s daughter and moved in with the family.
The multimillionaire developer was charged in July with the rape of an unconscious person and five inconsistent touches of two girls, then 16, during their visits to his luxury home in the Emerald Bay community of Laguna Beach.
In Texas, he is also charged with sexual assault, which the state classifies as a second degree crime.
Hutchinson, founder of real estate investment firm Dunhill Partners and co-owner of Virgin Hotels Dallas, pleaded guilty to the charges and insisted that he was “incapable of sexual or other assault.”
Hutchinson is also the star of the reality TV show “Marrying Millions,” in which he appears with his 23-year-old fiancée.
In the lawsuit filed on Tuesday, attorneys representing the girl identified as Jane Doe 2 allege that the attacks began between April 1 and 5, 2021 at Hutchinson’s home in Laguna Beach Park, Texas, an affluent suburb of Dallas through to she reported them to the police in May.
According to the lawsuit, Jane Doe 2 met and became friends with two 15-year-old girls who lived with Hutchinson at his home in Highland Park. One of the girls was the daughter of Hutchinson’s ex-wife, and Hutchinson was the other girl’s legal guardian. The suit states that Jane Doe 2 often spent time with the two girls for dinner, overnight stays, and vacations.
The lawsuit alleges that when Jane Doe 2’s parents moved from Highland Park to Fort Worth, they agreed to move in with Hutchinson’s family so she wouldn’t have to change schools and stay with her friends.
According to the lawsuit, Jane Doe 2 would travel with Hutchinson and the other girls to his homes in Miami, Laguna Beach, and a resort in Arizona. The suit claims that Hutchinson provided the girls with alcohol and smoked marijuana during those trips.
“Mr. Hutchinson will soon learn the hard lesson that wealth, power, and fame does not permit anyone to sexually abuse children in Texas or anywhere else,” said Charles E. Soechting Jr., one of her attorneys.
The lawsuit also cites Dunhill Partners and alleges they funded Hutchinson’s sexual abuse of Jane Doe 2 through his use of corporate travel accounts and property. It is also alleged that he regularly directed Virgin Hotels employees to supply the girls with alcohol.
“Bill Hutchinson has been credibly accused of sexually abusing young teenagers by several law enforcement agencies. He used his money, power and business, including his “Virgin” hotel partnership in Dallas, to care for his victims. We intend to hold him and everyone who enabled him accountable, including the Virgin Hotel, “said John Manly, another of the teenage lawyers.
Hutchinson is currently free on the Orange County case on $ 100,000 bail.
In Texas, he is charged with sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl in his Highland Park home while she was drunk. He has denied the charges and was released on $ 30,000 bail.
Hutchinson faces another civil lawsuit in Texas filed by a woman in her twenties who claims he made her drunk and took her to an apartment where he groped her and put her hand on his penis. The incident was recorded on video, according to the Dallas Morning News.
