Construction starts on Las Colinas hotel

The construction of a new hotel in Las Colinas has started.

The 150-room Hotel Indigo is being built on 455 E. John Carpenter Freeway in Irving by Type Six Design & Development of Grapevine and Shreem Capital.

The six-story hotel project includes a full-service restaurant, 3,300 square meters of meeting space, a swimming pool and a fitness center.

“As the location of our headquarters and this new hotel, we are equipped with the great Las Colinas city tour and look forward to continuing to create value in this city,” said Bhavin Patel, Principal at Shreem Capital, in a statement.

Type Six Design & Development provided architecture and engineering for the project.

Hotel Las Colinas will be the third Indigo location in North Texas for the IHG Hotels & Resorts-operated brand. There are also Indigo hotels in downtown Dallas and Frisco.

“Texas is one of the most popular travel destinations in the US due to the unique personalities of its many cities and boroughs, and attracts both business and leisure travelers from around the world,” said Carol Höller, Head of Global Hotel Indigo at IHG in a statement. “The originality of the state and the rich culture of communities like Las Colinas are one of the reasons the Hotel Indigo fits so well here.”
