Holiday week off to sunny, mild start, but rain is possible by Thanksgiving

The holiday week started sunny and mild on Monday, but according to the National Weather Service, a cold front and showers could hit the area by Thanksgiving.

Temperatures on Monday are expected to be in the mid-1960s, with light winds. Pleasant, somewhat warmer, autumnal conditions will continue on Tuesday.

“Cool conditions, but not bad – that’s about exactly where we should be for mid to late November,” said KXAS-TV (NBC5) meteorologist Grant Johnston.

A cold front could force rain in Dallas-Fort Worth on Wednesday and last through the holidays. Occasionally storms are possible, but storms are unlikely, said the weather service.

At the weekend it will be mostly dry with cooler conditions. Weather-related effects on vacation trips or festivities are not to be expected, said the weather service.

Here’s the latest forecast from NBC5:
