Major Development Headed to the Fort Worth Culture District – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
A Fort Worth developer makes a big bet on his hometown. John Goff is bringing his prestigious Crescent real estate known to many Dallasites to Cowtown.
It was with great pride that Goff walked between Fort Worth’s famous Kimbell and Museum of Modern Art, near his new $ 250 million Crescent project. Goff announced the luxury project earlier this year,
“It’s time. Fort Worth is ready for a first-class hotel. I think it’s been needed for a while,” said Goff.
Development is only a rendering now, but in two years the Crescent will feature a 200-room luxury hotel, restaurant, rooftop lounge, offices, and 170 residential units in the heart of Fort Worth’s cultural district.
Many developers have been trying unsuccessfully to carry out such a project for many years. Goff said relationships with neighboring museums helped him gain trust.
“I think we are local first and foremost. We live here. So we are not an outside developer trying to exert our influence. We love these museums. We respect the architecture and the restrictions that they require for this development and, to be honest, they were very easy for us to work around. “
Goff said it will look and feel different than the Dallas Crescent development; casual yet sophisticated.

“I like to refer to it as the Fort Worth living room. So when you drive by you want to go in and rest, have a drink, have dinner, meet friends. ”
Goff, who was co-chair of Fort Worth Now, which was focused on recovering business from the pandemic, said jobs are coming into the hotel and Canyon Ranch, as well as the municipal wellness facility, which will also be included.
“We’re fighting back. The problem is getting people in and that continues to be a struggle in all of our hotels, especially hotels, across the country. It’s coming back, ”said Goff.
The project certainly isn’t Goff’s first rodeo in development, but for him, he said, it’s personal.
“I love this city. It was a wonderful place to start a business, to have a family, and I feel like I owe him something,” said Goff.
