Three more towers in the works for Richardson’s $2 billion CityLine campus

Richardson’s $ 2 billion CityLine campus is growing, with plans for three more office towers.

Developer KDC in Dallas has been working on the 200-acre mixed-use project in Bush Turnpike and Plano Road since 2013.

CityLine has four office towers that are inhabited by State Farm Insurance. Now, KDC is fleshing out plans for additional high-rise buildings that would include nearly 1.4 million square feet of office space.

The largest building would be an 18-story, 513,000-square-foot tower. 15- and 13-story buildings are also planned in the project.

“CityLine is one of Metroplex’s most successful urban transport-centric developments,” said Walt Mountford, KDC’s executive vice president of development, in a statement. “These three new towers build on the success of the project and offer an exceptional opportunity for tenants looking for office space in an already established and thriving walk-through community.”

KDC's local projects include Richardson's huge CityLine complex.

Dallas-based architecture firm Corgan designed the CityLine towers, which can be connected to a skybridge. The skyscrapers would have curved and patterned glass and metal facades with office space in the parking lot.

The buildings would be erected east of Plano Road along the south side of Bush Turnpike.

KDC pitches the properties with potential local office tenants and moving companies.

“As an award-winning mixed-use project, CityLine reviews all of these criteria and is ideal for employee retention and recruitment,” said Aarica Mims, Senior Vice President and Director of Leasing at KDC.

CityLine currently has 2.6 million square meters of office space, a hotel with 148 rooms, almost 3,000 apartments and more than 200,000 square meters of restaurant and retail space. There is also a small urban residential area.

The last office tower was opened in 2016.

CityLine is expected to have 30,000 people living and working.

KDC announces the major CityLine expansion two months after forming a new partnership with Canadian real estate giant Caddilac Fariview.

KDC, Cadillac Fairview and Dallas’ Compatriot Capital have partnered on a new $ 800 million fund for additional mixed-use development and campus projects for corporate offices in the United States. The investment is expected to generate between $ 2 billion and $ 3 billion in new development business.

Cadillac Fairview, one of Canada’s largest pension funds, also acquired half a stake in KDC as part of the transaction.

KDC currently has more than $ 1.1 billion worth of commercial projects under development in Denver, Nashville, San Antonio, and Raleigh, NC
