Wildcats in the NFL – Week 10
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each week for the 2021 season, k-statesports.com rounds up the action of the 16 former Kansas State Football players currently in the NFL. For statistics on each game, click the bio link.
Deante Burton, DB – Dallas Cowboys
In his fourth NFL season and third with the Cowboys, Burton is on the Dallas training team. The Cowboys improved to 7-2 with a 43-3 win over Atlanta that season, and Dallas heads out against Kansas City on Sunday.
BJ Finney, OL – Pittsburgh Steelers
Finney, who is in his sixth NFL season and fifth with Pittsburgh, has been active but not featured in Pittsburgh’s 16-16 home game against Detroit. Now 5-3-1 this season, the Steelers will travel against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday evening.
Wyatt Hubert, DE – Cincinnati Bengals
Hubert, a round seven draft pick from Cincinnati in this year’s draft, was injured during the offseason and is in injury reserve. The 5-4 Bengals were goodbye and opened the second half of their season by facing Las Vegas on Sunday.
Elijah Lee, LB – Cleveland Browns
In his sophomore season at Cleveland, Lee made a tackle under his 13 defensive snaps and 22 special team games in Cleveland’s 45-7 loss in New England. The loss equalized Cleveland’s 5-5 record in front of hosts Detroit on Sunday.
Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett made his 80th career start, coming up with two catches for 23 yards in Seattle’s 17-0 defeat at Green Bay. The loss dropped the Seahawks to 3-6 this year as they received Arizona on Sunday.
Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Football Team
Lucas made his 27th career start and third of the year helping the Washington Football team anger over reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay, 29-19. Lucas has seen 264 offensive snaps this year, including all 73 games against the Buccaneers. Washington, who is 3-6 this season, will travel against Carolina on Sunday.
Briley Moore, TE – Tennessee Titans
Moore, a rookie free agent signer for the Titans last off-season, was injured during training camp and was placed in the injured reserve. The Titans improved to 8-2 that year and won their sixth straight game by holding New Orleans 23:21. Tennessee welcomes Houston on Sunday.
AJ Parker, DB – Detroit Lions
A newcomer to the free agent this year, Parker made his fourth start of the season when he recorded five tackles and one pass resolution in his 69 defensive snaps in Detroit’s 16-16 draw in Pittsburgh. Detroit is now 0-8-1 this season and the Lions face Cleveland on Sunday.
Byron Pringle, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
In his third season as a professional, Pringle scored four catches for 46 yards – including a 22-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to prevent the game – and helped Kansas City take a 41-14 win in Las Vegas on Sunday Night. Pringle also returned two kickoffs for 34 yards, having averaged 23.6 yards that year, finishing ninth in the NFL. The Chiefs won a third straight week, improving to 6–4, and they received Dallas on Sunday.

DJ Reed Jr., DB – Seattle Seahawks
Reed started his career for the 19th time – including all nine games that year – by making five tackles and two pass breaks while playing on all 74 defensive snaps in Seattle’s 17-0 loss to Green Bay . The Seahawks, 3-6 this year, face Arizona on Sunday.
Dalton Risner, OL – Denver Broncos
Risner started for the 41st time in his career and was in Denver’s 30-13 home defeat to Philadelphia for all 58 offensive snapshots. Risner has seen 2,531 of the 2,740 offensive snaps (92.3%) of the Broncos time since his career began in 2019.
Duke Shelley, DB – Chicago Bears
Shelley and the bears were free last week. Chicago are 3-6 this season and open the second half of their schedule by hosting Baltimore on Sunday.
Elijah Sullivan, LB – Kansas City Chiefs
Sullivan, a rookie free agent who was with San Francisco the entire preseason, was inducted into the Chiefs training team on September 11th. Kansas City took their third straight win, a 41-14 triumph in Las Vegas on Sunday night. The 6-4 Chiefs will receive Dallas on Sunday.
Kiondor Thomas, DB – Los Angeles Chargers
Thomas, a rookie free agent who spent the entire preseason with Cleveland, was inducted into the Los Angeles Chargers training roster on September 6th. LA lost 27:20 at home to Minnesota and dropped to 5-4 this year. The Chargers host Pittsburgh on Sunday night.
Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
Whitehair and the bears said goodbye last week. Chicago, which stands 3-6 this year, will host Baltimore on Sunday.
Jordan Willis, DE – San Francisco 49ers
Willis helped San Francisco to a 31:10 home win on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers are 4-5 this year and head to Jacksonville on Sunday.
