Airline – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Flight 976 had left John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and was en route to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, but was diverted to Denver because of the incident, the airline said.
Law enforcement officers arrested the passenger at the gate, according to American Airlines. The airline did not provide any further details or the condition of the flight attendant.
“American Airlines will not tolerate acts of violence against our team members,” said a written statement. “The person involved in this incident will never be allowed to travel on American Airlines in the future, but we will not be satisfied” until he is fully prosecuted. This behavior needs to stop, and aggressive enforcement and prosecution of the law is the best deterrent. “
