Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will step on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s turf for campaign event in Dallas
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis invades Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s home turf to run a fundraiser for the campaign.
DeSantis and his wife Casey will be attending an event at the home of Dallas billionaire Kenny Troutt and his wife Lisa in Dallas on Monday, according to an invitation from The Dallas Morning News.
Guests are asked to pay $ 2,500 per person while event co-chairs bring in $ 25,000 per person.

DeSantis, in his first term as Florida governor, is widely considered a GOP presidential candidate for 2024, especially if former President Donald Trump opts not to make a comeback.
His quick reopening of Florida when most states were still in lockdown mode to tackle the coronavirus pandemic made him a favorite with many national conservatives. He is an outspoken critic of mask requirements and so-called vaccination passes.
DeSantis is the routine winner of most Republican straw polls for the 2024 race that Trump does not participate in. He won the July straw poll “If Trump Doesn’t Run for 2022” at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas. Trump was the winner of the straw poll that included his name, while Abbott was not a factor in the polls.

Since then, Abbott has become more of a national figure because of the controversial Texas electoral law he signed, as well as the new law that bans all abortions after six weeks of gestation.
The Texas governor has also opposed a return to mask mandates. He is currently involved in legal disputes with local authorities who are implementing such mandates despite being banned.
Both men are standing for re-election in 2022 and are said to have presidential aspirations.
It is not yet known whether Abbott will travel to Florida to raise campaign funds.
