ICE!, The Gaylord’s annual holiday-themed show, is literally on ice

Like an elf on the shelf – this is where the popular ICE of the Gaylord Texan Resort is located! Exhibition will be this holiday season.

Due to international travel restrictions related to COVID-19, the resort has announced that ICE! will not attend its annual Lone Star Christmas event as ice carvers cannot make the trip to the Grapevine Resort, NBC5 (KXAS-TV) reported.

ICE CREAM! is the popular self-guided, walk-in event with ice sculptures, slides and a Christmas crib.

Instead, during the Gaylord’s Christmas season, which runs from November 12th to January 2nd, in partnership with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment, according to the resort’s website, guests can experience a new “original experience with Elf”.

In the multi-sensory experience with interactive challenges, guests can “travel into the world of Buddy the Elf to save their vacation”.

Other activities that are part of the holiday event include snow tubing, gingerbread decorations, ice skating, and photos with Santa Claus.

The resort hopes to welcome ICE! back to Texas next year.

“Our plan is to have our iconic ICE! Event back to our Christmas program as soon as international travel guidelines allow, ”reads the resort’s website.

During the Great Wolf Lodge's Halloween season, a spider made of 4,040 balloons greets guests in the lobby.
