<p>Nehemiah Co. has completed the second phase of its decade-long redevelopment project in Arlington, Texas. The developer has completed construction on The Truman, its 358-unit community that is part of its Arlington Commons project.</p>
<p>Nehemiah Co. hired KWA Construction as general contractor for the second phase of the project, which began construction in September 2019. The project team also included JHP Architecture, which designed the community, and WORKSHOP | Studio that designed the interiors. Greystone also provided funding for The Truman, which is managed by the developer’s internal management group, the Nehemiah Management Group.</p>
<p>The Truman is now open for rental and offers studio, one, two, and three bedroom units from 598 to 1,594 square feet. The units were built with 10-foot ceilings, soaking tubs, mudroom areas, LED lighting, USB charging sockets, electronic locks, and key chains, with some units offering 11 to 12-foot ceilings. The four-story community also includes a coworking space, spa, pool, fitness center, game room, fire pit, dog park, common room, private event space, ride-sharing lounge, electric vehicle charging stations, and barbecue stations. The Truman was also built with a four-story covered parking garage, rooftop parking, and a retail store on the ground floor that will be used by Nehemiah Coffee Co., which is slated to open in the spring of 2022.</p>
<h2>FIVE PHASES UNTIL 2030</h2>
<p>The completion of The Truman marks the second phase of Arlington Commons for Nehemiah Co. The major redevelopment project initially began with its first phase centered on The Roosevelt, a 353 unit parish built in 2016.</p>
<p>Brian Webster, president of KWA Construction, said in prepared remarks that Arlington Commons is an example of a community revitalization project that is both financially profitable and transformative.</p>
<p>In total, Arlington Commons will consist of five phases with approximately 1,300 planned units. Probably one of the largest planned renovations in the greater Dallas / Fort Worth area, the multi-phase project should be completed in 2030.</p>
