LAS CRUCES, NM – The reigning WAC Champion NM State Women’s Golf Program announced its full schedule for 2021-22 on Wednesday.

“We have tried to create as strong a schedule as possible this season to prepare for the postseason,” said head coach Danny Bowen. “We’re just excited to get started in September with Dick McGuire, which will have one of the strongest fields of the season.”

The Aggies open the fall portion of their program September 13-14 when they make the short trip to Albuquerque for the aforementioned Dick McGuire Invitational, hosted by the UNM.

After a week off, NM State is continuing its fall schedule with four games at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Red Sky Golf Club in Vail, Colorado, September 27-29.

The month of October starts in style for the Aggies as over 15 programs for the 2021 Aggie Invitational will be held in Las Cruces from October 4-6, before NM State closes its fall roster with the Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by Tulsa on October will be 11-12.

“We always enjoy hosting our own event,” said Bowen. “We love bringing in teams from all over the country and they seem to be having a great time when they come to Las Cruces. Whenever you host an event the goal is to win it, so hopefully our girls are ready.”

After a brief hiatus, the Aggies travel to Los Angeles for Long Beach State’s “The Gold Rush” (February 28 – March 1) and then head to Dallas for the SMU’s Trinity Forest Invitational on March 7. 8th.

After a well-deserved week, the Aggies travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the El Tigre Invitational (hosted by Iowa) from March 19-21, before the final weekend of the regular season ends in Phoenix for the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.

The next challenge on the Aggies schedule is the biggest as the WAC championships arrive April 18-20. This year’s WAC championships will be held at Riverhill Golf Club in Kerrville, Texas. The NCAA Regionals arrive May 9-11, with the 2022 NCAA Nationals held May 20-25 at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Phoenix.

“We’re going to have a smaller roster this year so everyone on the list gets a chance to compete, which is really good,” added Bowen. “I think the returning players from last season’s championship team will really help us in the end and we hope for the seasoned leaders to help us this season. We look forward to the girls taking on new roles too to replace them. ” the three seniors we lost last season. Everyone will be ready to make these adjustments and have an impact on the team. “
