Sporting Kansas City (10-4-4, 34 points) took a hard-fought 0-0 at the Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening and thus secured first place in the Western Conference. Another busy week awaits manager Peter Vermes ‘men, who will begin their League Cup campaign on Tuesday before continuing their hunt for the Supporters’ Shield on Saturday.

LEAGUES CUP STARTS TUESDAY

On Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT, Sporting will host the Mexican Powerhouse Club Leon in the quarter-finals of the Leagues Cup 2021, a leading international tournament with elite clubs from MLS and LIGA MX. Tickets for the highly anticipated matchup are available on SeatGeek.com. The competition will be broadcast nationwide on ESPN2 and TUDN, streamed live on the ESPN app and broadcast locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340. FC DALLAS EXPECTED ON SATURDAY

After the hosts of Club Leon, Sporting will travel south to compete in another important duel of the Western Conference against the formally strong FC Dallas (5-7-6, 21 points). The game begins at 7:30 p.m. CT with three hours of live programming slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. CT on Bally Sports Kansas City Plus, Bally Sports Midwest, BallySports.com, and the Bally Sports app. Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish) broadcast local radio calls, followed by the post-game show The Final Whistle on 810 WHB.

Led by head coach Paulo Nagamura, Sporting Kansas City II (3-10-5, 14 points) will continue its USL championship campaign with two games this week. The club will visit Birmingham Legion FC (9-5-2, 29 points) in a 7:00 p.m. CT opener on Wednesday before taking Atlanta United 2 (4-7-6, 18 points) in a 4:00 p.m. CT Showdown on Saturday at Children’s Park Receives Mercy. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN Plus.

SPORTY KC SHOW ON WEDNESDAY

A new episode of the Sporting KC Show Podcast will debut Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB.
